B104 Lab Renovation – CVM Main Building- Advertisement for Bids & Notice of Public Meeting for Proposed Alternate Bids for Preferred Products

Sealed proposals will be received by NC State University. Attention Laura L. Zaytoun, until 2:00 PM on February 5, 2019 in conference room 301, Administrative Services III Building 2701 Sullivan Drive, Raleigh, NC 27695 and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment for the construction of:

The project scope includes the renovation of approximately 7,700 ASF on the first floor of the CVM Main Building on the NC State campus.  The renovation area includes approximately 5,400 ASF of laboratory and support space and 2,300 ASF of office and storage space.  The B104A lab must remain operational during the Fall and Spring semesters, and construction scheduling and phasing will be key to the success of the renovation.  The majority of the construction is planned for summer 2019.  The project will require architectural work, including casework, new ceilings and acoustical baffling, fixtures and finishes and some new walls; electrical work, including lighting, power and data and fire alarm; plumbing and structural work related to existing floor trenches that contain supply and waste piping for lab functions, and sprinkler work; and mechanical work, including re-routing duct work and removal and installation of a fume hood.

Bids will be received for single prime bid contracts.  All Proposals will be lump sum.

Notice of Public Meeting for Proposed Alternate Bids for Preferred Products:

An open public meeting will be held on January 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM in Room A-231 of CVM Main Building at 1060 William Moore Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606.  The meeting is to identify preferred brand alternates and their performance standards pertinent to this project.

In accordance with GS133-3, Section 64. (C) and State Construction Office procedures the following preferred brand items are being considered as Alternates by the owner for this project:

  • Door Hardware
  • Building Automation System
  • Fire Alarm Controls
