North Carolina State University is seeking qualification statements from general contractors for improvements to the Lake Wheeler MDF project, located on Lake Wheeler Campus. The project scope includes the construction of a 755 gross square foot, non-combustible building for a Main Distribution Frame (MDF) telecom facility. The building requires redundant mechanical systems, an emergency generator and security system, and fire protection systems to protect the integrity of the equipment located inside.
The budget of $800,000 incorporates design, construction, fees and associated construction costs.
To qualify, the contractor must have a general contractor’s license in the State of North Carolina as well as applicable bonding requirements. The contractor must show comparable work experience, both in complexity and dollar value, and preferably in a University campus environment, to the scope of work outlined above.
To be considered, the contractor must obtain an application package from the NC State University Project Manager and submit a sealed, fully completed qualification document by 5:00PM, October 25, 2021, to Mike Kapp, project manager, by email only, to email@example.com.
