Request for General Contractor Prequalification Submittals – Talley Student Union – Glycol Chiller Replacement

North Carolina State University is seeking qualification statements from general contractors for improvements to Talley Student Union Glycol Chiller Replacement, located on main campus.  The project scope includes the replacement of the existing glycol refrigeration system serving the building’s walk-in freezers and coolers. The work involves transitioning the existing system to a more reliable chilled water/glycol configuration. Sensitive requirements include phased construction within an active, high-occupancy dining facility to ensure zero interruption to dining services.

To qualify, the contractor must have a general contractor’s license in the State of North Carolina as well as applicable bonding requirements.  The contractor must show comparable work experience, both in complexity and dollar value, and preferably in a university campus environment, to the scope of work outlined above.

To be considered, the contractor must obtain an application package from the NC State University Project Manager and submit a fully completed qualification document by 5:00 PM, September 16th, 2026, to Mike Bell, project manager, by email only to [email protected].  No hard copies will be accepted.  Application packages will be available electronically after August 3rd, 2026. Please contact the project manager via email (preferred) or phone to request a package or download it from the link below. Please note this is a re-advertisement and firms that previously submitted RFQs for this project do not need to re-apply.
