Built in 1981, Caldwell Hall was originally named Link Building. It was soon renamed after John Tyler Caldwell, who served NC State as a chancellor from 1959-1975. During his term, the B.A. program was enacted, liberal arts programs were expanded and women’s enrollment increased. Caldwell Hall houses studies in English, communication and political science.
