The College of Veterinary Medicine Research Building was built in 2005 by Flad & Associates to provide much needed research, teaching, and office space for the College of Veterinary Medicine. The building was one of the 2000 Higher Education Bond Projects based on the Eva Klein & Associates Study entitled NCSU Facilities Profile and 10-Year Capital Plan completed December 1999.

This project built on the framework of the precinct plan by starting the first campus neighborhood oriented around a shared open space. Pedestrian movement through the site was enhanced with the beginnings of the All Campus Path along William Moore Drive. The natural resources were improved with the addition of storm water devices and restoration of the buffers along the streams.
