Bragaw Window Replacement – Architecture/Engineer Selection

This project is to upgrade Bragaw Residence Hall exterior.  New work includes window replacement, caulking, security screen installation and associated asbestos abatement.  Exterior painting and panel sealing will be done by NC State University Housing.

A Pre-submittal Meeting will be held on June 19, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.  in Room 301, Administrative III Building, 2701 Sullivan Drive, Raleigh, NC 27695 on the NC State University campus.  Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory.

Sealed proposals will be received until 3:00 PM on July 9th in conference room 101, Administrative Services III Building 2701 Sullivan Drive, Raleigh, NC 27695 and immediately thereafter publicly opened and read for the furnishing of labor, material and equipment for the construction of:

Full or partial sets of plans and specifications can be purchased at Document Imaging Systems, 231 E. Johnson Street, Units E, F, G, Cary, NC, 27513-4010. Partial sets shall be purchased at contractor’s expense and will not be refunded.  The State reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals. The plan deposit will be refunded to all bidders and non-bidders, provided the plans are returned bound, in order, and in good condition no later than 10 days following the bid date.

Pre-Bid Meeting

 A public meeting and site visit will be held for all interested bidders on June 23rd at 3:00 in room 101 of Administrative Services III Building at 2701 Sullivan Drive, Raleigh, NC 27695.  The meeting will address project specific questions.

Notice of Public Meeting for Proposed Alternate Bids for Preferred Products.

A second public meeting will be held on June 23rd at 3:00 PM in Room 101 of Administrative Services III Building at 2701 Sullivan Drive, Raleigh, NC 27695.  The meeting is to identify preferred brand alternates and their performance standards pertinent to this project.

In accordance with GS133-3, Section 64. (C) and State Construction Office procedures the following preferred brand items are being considered as Alternates by the owner for this project:

  1. Provide Protective Relays throughout as Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc

(SEL) as indicated within Specification 16345.

  1. Digital Feeder Meters (DFM), Model: Nexus 1272

Cox Hall Scale-Up Classrooms- Request for General Contractor Prequalification Submittals

North Carolina State University is seeking qualification statements from general contractors for improvements to Cox Hall SCALE-UP Classrooms, located on North Campus, 2700 Katherine Stinson Drive, Raleigh, NC.  The project scope includes renovating office space in Cox Hall into high-technology classrooms. The project will create two SCALE-UP classrooms on the first floor. The renovation will address mechanical systems and toilet facilities.  Project will include AV and technology scope of work for each classroom.

To be considered, the contractor must obtain an application package from the NC State University Project Manager, Mike Kapp or Bill Davis and submit a sealed, fully completed qualification document by 5:00pm, July 7, 2015, to Mike Kapp, project manager, at Administrative Services Building III, 2701 Sullivan Dr., Suite 331, NCSU, Campus Box 7520, Raleigh, NC 27695-7520.  Application packages will be available electronically after June 8, 2015.  Please contact the project manager via email to request a package.  Three (3) hard copies of completed qualification packages must be submitted to the project manager.  Completed qualification packages will not be accepted electronically.

Tucker Hall Renovation- Architecture/Engineer Selection

For each of the 189 resident rooms, the project replaces the in-room sink with a new fixture, paints the room, and replaces the bedroom door/ lock. The sink replacement will require minor wall repair, new plumbing line installation, and abatement work at the sink area. This 4-story 68,780 gross square foot building was constructed in 1947.

Facilities Operations and Grounds Management Support Facility- Designer/Engineer Selection

This project will construct 33,000 gross square feet of service, shop, and warehouse facilities to support existing buildings and grounds and projected growth on the Centennial Campus Precinct.  Departments operating from the facility will include Building Maintenance and Operations, Repair and Renovation, Housekeeping, Grounds Management, Landscape Construction Services, and Business Services.  The project will also construct a service yard consisting of bins and structures to support 14,000 gross square feet of unconditioned space to store a variety of equipment and materials, including chemicals, as well as additional space for storage of fleet vehicles and a fueling station.  The project will provide for approximately 45 off-street parking spaces.  Site selection among several proposed sites will be included in the Site Analysis/Programming Phase currently funded.
