Dabney Hall Renovation- First Tier Subcontractor Prequalification

New Atlantic Contracting, Inc. is seeking to prequalify principal trade and specialty contractors to submit bids for the furnishing of labor, material, and equipment for the NC State Swing Dabney Hall Renovation (chemistry lab space) project. New Atlantic Contracting, Inc. has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for the project and will receive bids from and contract with the principal and specialty contractors for the execution of the work. Small, minority, women, and disabled-owned business enterprises are encouraged to participate.

Work includes renovation of approximately 44,000 square feet of existing lab spaces and office workspaces. Space on (3) floors will be fully demoed.  Space on (2) floors will be renovated with completely new work. The project includes completely new MEPFP equipment and infrastructure to support all (9) floors of Dabney Hall. The exterior façade will be replaced and repaired and the roof will be fully replaced. The project includes site work and utilities.

Bid Packages listed are preliminary and are subject to modification by the Construction Manager.

Historically underutilized business participation is highly encouraged. If a MWBE firm requests assistance with cash flow needs, New Atlantic Contracting will work with that Subcontractor, or Vendor, to arrange payment on a biweekly basis through a joint check arrangement.  Similar project experience will be considered during prequalification.

Bid Bonds will not be required for Bid Packages less than $500,000.00.  Payment and performance bonds will not be required for Bid Packages less than $300,000.00 If submitting on multiple trade packages and the aggregate of the packages meets or exceeds $500,000, a Bid, Payment, and Performance bond will be required for each trade package.

  • Anticipated Finalization of Prequalified First-Tier Subcontractors List:
    • Late-April, 2025 (subject to change)
  • Anticipated Advertisement for Bids: May 2025 (subject to change)
  • Anticipated Bid Date: June 2025 (subject to change)
  • Start of Construction: October 2025 (subject to change)

The CM and Owner reserve the right to reject any and all Prequalification Submittals

Prequalification for this project will comply with the State of North Carolina Prequalification Policy as set forth per North Carolina Session Law 2014-42 – https://ncadmin.nc.gov/documents/state-nc-qualification-policy.

The contracting method will be through a Competitive Public Bid in accordance with Chapter 143 of the NC General Statues.
